Mr. Poland has been accepted as an Expert Witness in the areas of land use planning and neighborhood redevelopment by the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.

January 2011, Mr. Poland became a full time member of faculty as an Instructor in the Department of Geography at Central Connecticut State University. He is a human geography teaching in the areas of urban and regional planning.

Mr. Poland, on July 28, 2011 successfully completed his PhD upgrade workshop. His outside examiner was David Bell, PhD, Senior Lecturer in Critical Human Geography, University of Leeds. Mr. Poland has completed the program requirements as a PhD Candidate and has started his fieldwork and thesis (dissertation).
